Salient Features of Solvent Extraction Plants
- Extractor speed is controlled by the Frequency Controller System with a provision for checking the load on the extractor accurately with a variable overload ammunition and a tripping mechanism. This provides information well in advance about the Extractor Band Conveyor which detects defects, which can be rectified before a major break down is involved. This sort of problem in the extractor is quite common due to the vulnerability of the extraction process.
- The Desolventiser Toaster is of a very modern design which is energy efficient with 100% desolventising features by a counter current vapour path in the true sense, thereby ensuring non-entry of vapours or air in the last compartment. This is achieved by achieving differential vapour pressures in the compartment's by AUM's unique design. It is this entry of air which is responsible for higher solvent loss carrying the solvent vapour through vent.
- Heating is done with our unique Thermosyphon Heating System, thus replacing a number of steam traps which are one of the main sources of steam losses.
- The Thermosyphon Heating System is coupled with an efficient Flash Steam Recovery system with Thermo Compression for effective steam utilization and heat recovery, thereby saving steam.
- AUM's low temperature Distillation system can be operated at a temperature more than 800C. This enhances the colour and bleachability properties of the oil, which would have been effected, had the temperature been higher.
- Electronic devices wherever required to maximize energy saving in the plant are employed.
- AUM can achieve and maintain a 100% effluent free plant with their unique Zero Effluent Discharge system which also provides condensate water to meet the entire requirement for the Boiler feed water thereby improving the Boiler efficiency and reducing the expenses of water treatment.
